About this postcard

The scene is titled "California Springtime," after a painting by L. A. Ramsey. A broad meadow of orange, red, blue, and yellow wildflowers fills the foreground, with a single dark tree on a low rise at left. Sunlit foothills roll toward a large mountain mass with a snow-capped summit under a blue sky streaked with clouds. The specific range is not identified. The contrast of lowland flowers and snow on the high peaks is a familiar California spring sight, and such scenic views were common early twentieth-century postcard subjects.
