About this postcard
A halftone view across the water toward a wooded shore dotted with small white cottages and camp buildings, captioned by the card as "A Beauty Spot of Hamlin Lake" and "Camp Arcadia on the Upper Hamlin." Hamlin Lake is a large inland lake just north of Ludington in Michigan's Lower Peninsula, and by the early 1900s its shores were lined with summer cottages and camp meeting grounds reached by steamer and interurban from Ludington. The card was written in August 1907, when such lakeside camps were at the height of their popularity as summer resorts.
