Campus and dormitories, Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, circa 1910

About this postcard

A grainy black-and-white view across a broad lawn toward two long, low brick dormitory buildings with two-story colonnaded porticos, linked by a rear wing, with bare winter trees scattered around them. The caption names the scene as the campus and dormitories of Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. LSU moved from its old downtown Baton Rouge barracks to this new campus south of town in the mid-1920s, so a card showing these colonnaded dormitories reflects the university's early-20th-century growth period.
