About this postcard

A dark canoe rests at the edge of Snipsic Lake near Rockville, Connecticut, at sunset or sunrise, with calm water reflecting trees and sky and wooded shores in the distance. Rockville was a textile-mill village in Vernon by the early 1900s, and the lake and its wooded banks offered a quiet local outing for residents of the mill town.
