About this postcard

The view shows several canoes with paddlers on the dark water of the Charles River at Waltham, Massachusetts. A wooded bank and a low sandy shore line the far side beneath a pale sky. Waltham was an industrial city of mills and watch factories in the early 1900s, and the Charles served as a nearby setting for leisure and outdoor recreation.
