The card shows the stone canopy over Plymouth Rock, with arched openings, columns, and iron gates, set on a grassy plot beside Plymouth Harbor; the printed caption names it "Canopy over Plymouth Rock." Plymouth Rock is the traditional site of the Pilgrims' 1620 landing, and the canopy was built to protect the boulder. The structure in this view is an earlier canopy that stood before the rock was re-landscaped in the 1920s.
Printed in Germany; publisher imprint at lower right; small "KEEP OFF" sign in the grass; black-and-white printed photograph.
No postmark and no handwriting; unused card. Undivided back with "THE ADDRESS TO BE WRITTEN ON THIS SIDE" and Raphael Tuck & Sons imprint (series No. 2109), typical of ca. 1901-1907 Tuck cards printed in Germany; light soiling and faint creasing, corners slightly worn.
