About this postcard

The view looks up from the base of the Niagara gorge, with Bridal Veil Falls dropping on the right and the dark limestone overhang of the Cave of the Winds at center. A wooden walkway with railings crosses the wet rocks in the foreground, where a few small figures give the scale of the falls. The printed caption calls the scene "Rock of Ages" and American Falls from below and notes that Centre Fall issues between Luna and Goat Island. Visitors reached the natural cave by a winding stairway from Goat Island; the cavern remained a Niagara attraction until the overhang collapsed in 1954, and the name now belongs to the deck tour beside the falls.
