About this postcard
A high vantage looking down into Cedar Canyon, where a small stream winds between banded, eroded buttes and slopes dotted with green scrub, with the rolling North Dakota Badlands stretching to a pale horizon. The view is taken from U.S. Highway No. 10, the old coast-to-coast route that crossed the state through the Badlands country of the Little Missouri breaks. The region's layered sandstone and clay badlands were later preserved in Theodore Roosevelt National Park, established as a memorial in 1947.
