About this postcard

A street view of the Centenary Methodist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia, a red-brick complex with a tall white steeple and columned portico, with a smaller brick church building beside it and leafy trees along the sidewalk. Centenary Methodist Church traces its congregation to the early 19th century, and the sanctuary shown here was long a landmark of Lynchburg's Court Street area. The card is a linen-textured view printed in the late 1930s.
