A corner view of Indianapolis's Central Library, a monumental stone building with a long Doric colonnade along its front and rows of tall rectangular windows on the side elevation, with a few pedestrians on the walk and lawn in the foreground. The library was designed by architect Paul Philippe Cret in a Greek Doric style and opened in 1917 on St. Clair Street as the main building of the Indianapolis Public Library system. The card's pastel sky and white border are typical of the color-printed view cards of the 1930s and 1940s.
