About this postcard

A black-and-white halftone view of Central Park in Winona, Minnesota, showing a circular fountain basin with a statue-topped monument at its center, framed by large shade trees; two figures rest on a bench at the left edge of the pool. Winona, on the Mississippi River in southeastern Minnesota, was a lumber and grain milling center, and its Central Park (later renamed in honor of a local figure) served as the city's principal downtown green space with fountains and monuments. The card's caption names the scene simply as "Central Park, Winona, Minn."
