Children with a Christmas tree in the snow, "Loving Christmas Wishes", circa 1910

Card type

About this postcard

Two rosy-cheeked children play in deep snow before a snow-laden Alpine-style chalet hung with icicles. A girl in a red cap, bodice, and skirt holds up a small evergreen tree, while a boy in a hat, jacket, and red boots raises one hand and carries a red ball. A large bare tree and a rustic wooden fence frame the scene. The printed greeting reads "Loving Christmas Wishes," and the card carries a cousin's holiday message to Bethel, Connecticut. German printers supplied many of the illustrated Christmas and New Year cards that circulated through the mail in the early twentieth century.
