About this postcard

An oval halftone vignette shows Christ, in dark robes, with his arm around a child leaning against him, set against a salmon-pink ground within a blue bordered frame. Below, the card is printed as a greeting from the "Pastor's Study, Waverly, N.Y.," extending an anniversary blessing to the recipient. Waverly is a village in Tioga County in New York's Southern Tier, on the Pennsylvania line at the Chemung River. Cards of this sort were sent by clergymen to parishioners on the anniversary of a baptism, wedding, or other church occasion.
