About this postcard

The card shows a curling parchment scroll wreathed in autumn-toned ivy, printed with the verse "A friendship that like love is warm, A love like friendship steady." A red wax seal at lower right reads "A HAPPY XMAS." The design pairs a Christmas wish with a friendship sentiment, a common combination on early 20th-century holiday postcards. The card was sent from Deposit, NY, to a couple in Walton, NY, carrying a handwritten Christmas and New Year greeting.
