About this postcard
A Christmas greeting card built around a large bell outlined in gold foil and hung from a holly-printed ribbon bow; inside the bell a small vignette shows a snow-covered cottage with a red roof, evergreens and a stream in a wintry landscape. The silver-gray ground is crossed by ribbon bands printed with holly leaves and berries, and a spray of embossed holly with red berries fills the lower right corner. Cards of this embossed, gold-accented style were standard German- and American-printed holiday greetings of the early 1900s, sent for a penny post.
