About this postcard

A printed Christmas greeting card on a pale yellow ground: at left an oval vignette shows a snow-capped house beside blue water, wreathed in holly and red poinsettia, while at right a six-line verse wishes the recipient a merry Yuletide. A black band across the bottom reads "GREETINGS of the SEASON" in gold lettering flanked by poinsettia blossoms. Cards of this style, with a short rhymed greeting and a small pictorial vignette, were standard holiday mail in the early 20th century.
