A Christmas scene in a parlor: a woman in a red blouse and yellow apron offers a treat to a small boy while a girl in a red dress and hat looks on. A decorated Christmas tree stands at left beside a small table with a box, with a wall cabinet and clock in the background. The handwritten message, signed May, wishes a merry Christmas and asks whether the recipient is coming home for the holiday. By the early 1900s, illustrated Christmas postcards were a common way to send holiday greetings.
