About this postcard
A cinnamon bear stands upright on its hind legs, facing left, while a person's arm reaches toward it from the left edge. A second, darker bear is visible at lower left, and a rough stone wall forms the background. The wall and the nearness of the person suggest a captive animal on display rather than a bear in the wild. Cinnamon is a color phase of the American black bear, and the setting fits Banff's early tourist trade, when the Canadian Pacific Railway brought visitors to the Rockies and captive wildlife was a common draw.
