A halftone view of New Haven's City Hall, a High Victorian Gothic building with a tall clock tower and pointed arch windows, seen across a street lined with bare winter trees. The card's own caption names it "City Hall, New Haven, CT." The building, designed by architect Henry Austin and completed in the early 1860s, remains one of the city's best-known Gothic Revival landmarks on Church Street.
White border; black-and-white halftone print on undivided-back era stock; ornate printed name "Miss Minnie Henke" at top; light staining and wear along the right edge.
No postmark, stamp, address, or message — back is entirely blank apart from the printed heading. Undivided-style cream stock with a single vertical rule and "THIS SPACE FOR ADDRESS"; decorative "Post Card" lettering with triangle flourishes; plain rectangular stamp box reading "PUT ONE CENT STAMP HERE". Light soiling and a soft corner crease at upper right.
