About this postcard

The view shows the City Hospital of Bridgeport, Connecticut: a long, multi-story brick and stone institutional building with a central tower topped by a small cupola and finial, set behind lawns, a curving drive and mature shade trees. Wings of differing brick tones and a vine-covered section extend to either side of the towered entrance, and a printed postal cancel is worked into the sky above. Bridgeport, then one of New England's busiest industrial cities, supported a growing complex of hospitals and charitable institutions in this period.
