About this postcard
An elevated view looks down on the cloverleaf where U.S. Routes 49, 51, and 80 meet at the edge of Jackson, Mississippi. Curving ramps and a concrete overpass carry traffic through green fields and woods, with a rail line threading the interchange and the city's buildings clustered at the upper right. The printed caption marks the junction as the entrance into Jackson. Cloverleaf interchanges of this kind became common in the mid-twentieth century as federal highways crossed state capitals, and this one carried three U.S. routes through Jackson.
