Looking down from the High School Building, the circular College Hill Reservoir fills the foreground, its central brick standpipe sending a spray of water across the basin. Frame houses, shade trees, and low hills spread beyond the reservoir. The reservoir supplied Lynchburg's water in the early 20th century. The card was mailed in 1913, and its message is a letter home from a trip through Lynchburg and North West Virginia.
