The Colorado State Capitol is seen from across a lawn, framed by large shade trees, with its gilded dome and columned portico rising above the surrounding foliage. The building was designed by Elijah E. Myers in a Corinthian Neoclassical style and opened in the 1890s; its dome was originally covered in copper and was gilded with Colorado gold leaf in 1908 to commemorate the state's gold rush heritage. The gold dome remains the building's best-known feature and a symbol of Denver's civic center.
Linen-textured stock with a thin white border; caption printed in the lower margin. Cars visible along the street at the base of the building.
No postmark, stamp, address, or handwriting — unused printed back. Divided-back linen-era card ("THIS SPACE FOR WRITING" / "THIS SIDE IS FOR THE ADDRESS"), Metrocraft imprint, card no. 48247. Light age toning; otherwise clean.
