About this postcard
A cartoon pictorial map of the Florida peninsula, printed in green, blue and orange, with a numbered key at the lower right titled "Colorful Florida's Most Colorful Spots" listing Cypress Gardens, the Singing Tower, Silver Springs, Marine Studios, McKee Jungle Garden, the Fountain of Youth and the Arlington Art Museum. Cities and resorts are lettered across the state — Miami, Palm Beach, Tampa, St. Petersburg, Orlando, Daytona Beach, Jacksonville and others — with small vignettes of bathers, boats, fish, an orange and a Seminole figure. The attractions named were the staples of mid-century Florida tourism: Cypress Gardens near Winter Haven, opened in 1936, and Marine Studios at Marineland, opened in 1938 as the world's first oceanarium.
