About this postcard
A rocky, boulder-strewn shore of Yellowstone Lake gives way to blue-green water, with the forested slopes and grey summit of Colter Peak rising across the far shoreline under a clear sky. The card names the peak at 10,500 feet, a landmark of the park's Absaroka Range on the lake's southeast side, and the imprint belongs to the Haynes studio of Yellowstone, long the park's official photographers. The view is typical of the hand-colored Haynes views sold to park visitors in the early decades of the twentieth century.
