About this postcard
A barefoot man and woman paddle a patched blue canoe painted with stars. The woman wears an oversized red sun hat, and the man smokes a cigar. A spotted cow grazes on the grassy bank at left, while a bunch of grapes hangs at upper right. The caption, "I DON'T KNOW WHERE I'M GOING, BUT I'M ON MY WAY," turns the outing into a joke about aimless vacation travel, a familiar theme in 1930s resort postcards. Myrtle Beach was then a small but growing South Carolina beach resort, and comic cards like this offered visitors a light souvenir of the shore.
