About this postcard
A smiling young man in a dark suit, tie, and straw boater stands with his arm around a woman in a long white dress and hat. She waves with one raised hand, and a strapped suitcase sits at his feet against a rustic post in a green countryside setting. The printed line "Back again." gives the scene its joking tone. Sam and Mae sent the card to their parents in Walton, NY, with a brief family update: everyone was well except Sam, who had a cold, and they had looked for the recipients at the Binghamton and Cobleskill fairs. Comic postcards were a cheap, common way to keep in touch across distance in the 1910s, and the "Back again" line suits a note that announces the family is "still alive" and back in contact.
