About this postcard
A humorous color lithograph shows a long queue of men and women in red and yellow outfits, one pushed in a wheeled chair, shuffling toward a red brick building with a yellow banner reading "BATH HOUSE"; the caption promises "Everybody is cured at Clifton Springs, N. Y." Clifton Springs, in Ontario County, New York, was a well-known 19th- and early-20th-century health resort built around the Clifton Springs Sanitarium and its mineral-water baths, which drew invalids seeking cures. The card pokes gentle fun at the crowds of hopeful patients arriving for treatment.
