About this postcard
A chromolithographed comic card showing a startled, balding man in a brown suit, yellow waistcoat and striped trousers, one hand raised in a swearing-in gesture while small white objects (gloves or papers) drop from his pockets. The printed gag reads "Will I?" above him and "Ever again get Married — Nix!" below, a standard early-20th-century bachelor's joke on the perils of matrimony. The picture is framed by an elaborate Celtic knotwork border in green, orange and black, a decorative style common on German- and American-printed comic cards of the 1900s–1910s.
