A red rooster struts before a red hen sitting on a nest of eggs, with chicks gathered around and a second hen and picket fence drawn in blue behind them. The printed line "I am laying for you!" puns on the hen's egg-laying and the rooster's courtship, a common joke in early 1900s comic postcards.
The sender's message is written across the picture side, as was usual before divided backs became standard.
