About this postcard
A comic design pairs a snowy winter scene with an orange grove. In the upper panel, a figure in dark winter clothing stands among heavily snow-covered trees. Below, two figures stand in an orange grove with ripe fruit. The printed rhyme ties the panels together: "You may throw snowballs for me and I'll eat oranges for you." The joke turns on a familiar contrast between cold weather and warm citrus country. A pencil message from an aunt to Ferman Flave asks after Alice and little Harry and wishes she could walk in and see them all.
