About this postcard

The view shows the Confederate Memorial Monument on Stone Mountain, with the relief carving of Confederate generals on horseback set into the granite face. Stone Mountain, a large granite dome east of Atlanta, was the site of a Confederate memorial project begun in the 1910s and left unfinished for decades; the carving became a landmark of the Atlanta area and a focal point for Confederate memory.
