About this postcard

A tall granite obelisk topped by a bronze Confederate soldier rises from a landscaped island with lamp posts and trees. The memorial was dedicated in 1895 at Third Street and Broadway in downtown Louisville, and its bronze figure was cast in Munich. It stood there for more than a century as a familiar landmark before the city dismantled it in 2016 and moved it to Brandenburg, Kentucky.
