About this postcard

The view looks down from Brockway Drive over Copper Harbor, a small Lake Superior harbor town at the northern tip of Michigan's Keweenaw Peninsula. Evergreen forest fills the foreground and surrounding hills, while wharf buildings and a few structures sit at the water's edge. Wooded islands and points of land stretch across the blue bay. Copper Harbor grew as a copper-mining port in the 1840s and later became a summer destination; by the mid-twentieth century, the overlooks above town were part of the scenic route for visitors touring the Keweenaw.
