Corridor and main stairways, Utah State Capitol, Salt Lake City, Utah, circa 1934
About this postcard
A view down the grand interior corridor of the Utah State Capitol, with tall columns, balustraded gallery levels, patterned terrazzo floors and hanging light fixtures leading toward a central stair landing. The building was designed by architect Richard K. A. Kletting and completed in 1916 on Capitol Hill overlooking Salt Lake City, and its interior is noted for the marble and stone finishes seen here. The card's own caption names the scene as the corridor and main stairways of the capitol.
