About this postcard

The printed caption names the building as the County Court House in Columbus, Ohio, shown here as a large, mansard-roofed stone courthouse of Second Empire character, dominated by a tall clock tower and set at a broad street corner with a few pedestrians and a small outbuilding nearby. The view is a typical tinted street-side rendering of a civic building issued in the first decade of the 1900s, when such courthouses anchored downtown commercial districts. The purple receiving mark on the front is dated 1908, consistent with the card's era.
