Court House, Carnegie Library and City Park, Steubenville, Ohio, circa 1905

About this postcard

A three-view souvenir card combining vignettes of Steubenville, Ohio: the domed county court house with a soldiers' monument before it, the domed Carnegie Library set among lawns and walks, and a wooded City Park scene with a small waterfall and footbridge. Steubenville, on the Ohio River in Jefferson County, received one of Andrew Carnegie's library grants in the early 1900s, and its court house and park were standard local views on cards of the undivided-back era. The montage is printed in halftone with floral sprays linking the oval and rectangular frames.
