A monochrome view of Evansville's large domed court house, seen from a street corner with trolley tracks, utility poles and a few small figures in the foreground. The card's own caption names it simply "Court House, Evansville, Ind." The building shown is the Vanderburgh County Courthouse, a Renaissance Revival/Beaux-Arts style structure with a tall central dome, designed by Henry Wolters and completed around 1890; it replaced an earlier courthouse on the same downtown site.
Wide white margin at right carrying the printed caption and a handwritten greeting; monochrome print with light edge wear and a small crease at lower right.
Postmark: EVANSVILLE IND. DEC 1905 (day digit obscured by the killer bars). Undivided back with "THIS SIDE FOR THE ADDRESS ONLY"; private publisher imprint Smith & Butterfield, Publishers; light corner/edge wear, faint crease lower left.
