The Court House in Winona, Minnesota, fills the view: a heavy Romanesque Revival stone building with a central tower, arched entry, and a conical-roofed corner turret. The Winona County courthouse was completed in the late 1880s and served as one of the city's civic landmarks. The sender, Emma Fellows, used the view in July 1909 to invite a Pleasant Valley household to a dance on July 17, a small example of how postcards carried everyday local news.
