About this postcard
A pen-and-ink style sketch of the arched brick gateway of the Court of Two Sisters, with wrought-iron gates standing open onto a shadowed passage, a hanging lantern above, and crossed swords and a framed sign mounted on the wall. The card advertises the establishment as "the romantic rendezvous of New Orleans" serving "finest of creole and french cuisine," with dining, dancing and a patio, entered from Royal and Bourbon Streets. The Court of Two Sisters is a well-known French Quarter restaurant at 613 Royal Street, occupying an 1830s building and a courtyard traditionally associated with two sisters who kept a shop there in the nineteenth century.
