About this postcard
A black silhouette of a cowboy on a bucking bronco, hat raised in his right hand, fills the center of this Wyoming greeting. A large green "GREETINGS from" arcs above him against a sky that fades from pale blue through pink to orange. "Yippee! Let 'er Buck" sits at the right, and "OLD WYOMING" runs in red across a dark band at the bottom. The printed text promotes Wyoming as "the state of the great open spaces," with room to breathe, roam, hunt, and fish, and as one of America's last frontiers where wild game, open prairie, cowboys, Native Americans, mountain country, and cattle herds can still be seen. The rodeo and dude-ranch imagery fits the way Western states sold themselves to motorists and outdoor travelers in the mid-twentieth century.
