About this postcard

Eight women in western dress and wide-brimmed hats sit astride horses lined up across a grassy field, with a narrow band of blue water and a pale sky behind them. The card labels them "Cow Girls on 101 Ranch," the sprawling Osage County, Oklahoma, ranch of the Miller brothers, whose 101 Ranch Wild West show toured the United States and Europe in the early 1900s and made celebrity performers of its cowgirls. The imprint dates the copyright to 1908, the period when such ranch and rodeo imagery was a popular postcard subject.
