A rural Cuban scene: a low bohío with palm-trunk walls and a thatched roof stands at the right, while cattle graze and rest on a grassy slope in the foreground. Palms, scrub, and rolling hills fill the background. The bohío was a common country dwelling in Cuba, built from royal palm wood and palm thatch, and such huts appeared often on Cuban view cards. The cattle and open pasture suggest the mixed farming and grazing of the Cuban interior.
