About this postcard

A halftone view of the old Dallas County Court House, a massive Romanesque Revival pile of rough red sandstone with a tall central clock tower and clustered corner turrets, rising above the low commercial blocks of downtown Dallas. Built in 1890-1892 to designs by the firm Orlopp & Kusener, the building was nicknamed "Old Red" and served as the county's courthouse until it was demolished in 1966; a late-20th-century reconstruction now stands on the same site.
