About this postcard
Interior view of the day nursery operated by the Waltham Watch Company, filled with rows of small wooden spindle-back chairs and low tables for children. The American Waltham Watch Company was one of the nation's largest watch manufacturers, and like several progressive employers of the era it provided a nursery so that working mothers could leave their children in care during shifts. The card is numbered 22, indicating it belonged to a printed view set of the factory and its welfare facilities.
