About this postcard
An advertising card for Delta Air Lines' Douglas DC-8 Fanjet, showing the four-engine jet in flight above a cloud layer from a front-quarter angle. The plane wears Delta's white livery with a red and blue cheatline and the widget logo on the nose, tail, and engine nacelles, with DELTA titles along the fuselage. The printed copy presents the DC-8 as part of Delta's modern jet fleet, carrying 135 passengers in deluxe and jetourist classes and flying quieter and climbing faster than earlier jets. Delta took its first DC-8s in 1959, and the fanjet version was sold on its greater power and quieter cabin.
