Desert badlands landscape, circa 1940

Card type
Linen

About this postcard

A wide view over eroded, banded badlands: rounded hills and gullies in reds, oranges, purples and blues recede to a low mesa on the horizon under a pale blue sky with light clouds. A clump of desert scrub, possibly ocotillo, rises in the left foreground. The scene resembles the Painted Desert of the American Southwest, though the card carries no printed caption naming the location.
