A view across a broad lawn and curving walk toward the red-brick, white-trimmed buildings of DeVilbiss High School in Toledo, Ohio, with a clock tower rising above the central entrance and a dome visible on the wing at left. The school opened in 1931 and was named for Dr. Allen DeVilbiss, the Toledo physician and inventor of the atomizer whose family endowed the site. Its Georgian Revival design, with symmetrical wings and a cupola, typified the large public high schools built during the city's early-20th-century growth.
Linen-textured stock with visible crosshatch grain; thin white border; trees frame the scene in the foreground.
