Lorenzo di Credi's Gesù adorato dagli Angeli shows the Madonna and Child at the center, with angels on either side. Di Credi (1459-1537) trained in Verrocchio's Florentine workshop, and the painting is held in the Pinacoteca Capitolina in Rome. The image is paired with verses from Psalms 90 and 96 about angels guarding and worshiping, turning a Renaissance painting into a devotional object for a Catholic audience.
