About this postcard
The view looks down the aisle of a dining car set with white-clothed tables and spindle-back chairs. Potted carnations sit in wall niches, and uniformed waiters stand at the ready under an arched green-and-gold ceiling with hanging brass light fixtures. The caption identifies the car as the dining car of the Pennsylvania Special, the Pennsylvania Railroad's all-Pullman flyer between New York and Chicago. Introduced in 1902, the train was renamed the Broadway Limited in 1912, and such cards promoted the road's luxury service.
